Pro Golfer Makes Deal to Win 95 Cases of Beer for a Hole In One

Brooks Koepka

Fans of pro golfer Brooks Koepka could be in for quite a haul if he sinks a hole in one during this year’s PGA Tour. Koepka’s fans could take home 95 cases of beer each if he makes the ace shot.

Koepka has never shot an ace, but if he does, his deal with sponsor Michelob Ultra will afford fans signed up for the beer maker’s latest promotion a sudsy reward. Fans can sign up for the promotion at roundonbrooks.com, but only those living in 22 states can apply due to strict alcohol laws in the rest.

According to the promotion, if the golfer sinks his first hole-in-one fans will get 95 cases of beer each over a four-year period, the company says.

In addition to the hole-in-one provision of its promotion, the company is also set to shell out a $10 discount on beer orders for every eagle Koepka makes this season.

“That’s a lot of Michelob Ultra. I was thinking 95 cases for all the people that sign up … I can’t even do the math on that one,” Koepka said, “All I know it’s a lot. If 10,000 people sign up, that’s a lot of Michelob Ultra.”

Indeed, the company would be shelling out a lot of free product if Koepka achieves the miraculous tee off. But, odds are the beer company will receive more free advertisement than it will have to give beer. The odds of a pro golfer hitting a hole-in-one is 2,750-to-1, USA Today reported.

Despite the steep odds for sinking a hole-in-one, though, quite a few pros chalk up their ace each year.

During this past 2015-16 PGA tour, for instance, 27 pros claimed their ace shots, four at the Wyndham Championship alone. That is down from the 42 hole-in-one shots from the 2014-15 season.

They don’t call them pros for nothing.
