Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Fernando Rodney has officially become a U.S. citizen.
On Tuesday, the Dominican Republic native and proud new American tweeted the big news:
Rodney, noted for his love of plantains and firing imaginary arrows into the sky to celebrate his outs has also become one of the best closers in Major League Baseball over his fifteen-year career. His struggles in the early part of this season aside, Rodney has totaled 267 saves over his career. Good enough for fifth among active closers.
He also has pretty good taste in countries.
