One small step for man, one giant leap for…Roger Goodell?

This year’s Houston Texans Day 3 draft picks will be announced from the final frontier. Consumed with the apparent need to make the most boring day of the NFL Draft more interesting, the league has decided to make their late-round pick announcements from outer space.

It makes sense to have the Texans announce their picks from space, since NASA is based in Houston. The picks will be read by astronauts currently serving on the International Space Station.

According to Pro Football Talk, “Currently aboard the Space Station are Commander Peggy Whitson and Jack Fischer from the United States, France’s Thomas Pesquet and Russia’s Fyodor Yurchikhin and Oleg Novitskiy. Whitson is on her 535th day in outer space, the longest for any American astronaut ever.”

Good move for the NFL, even better move for NASA. Though, the unpleasant fact remains that the NFL can announce draft picks from space, but still cannot adequately explain what a catch is.

Think about that.
