If Tony Romo should find himself underwhelmed by any of his football choices he will, reportedly, have at least a couple of broadcast opportunities to pique his interest.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, CBS sees Tony Romo as a “potential replacement” for Phil Simms. Simms currently handles color duties next to Jim Nantz on the network’s number one broadcast team.
Obviously, Romo has said he still wants to play, and several teams still have interest in him. Also, broadcasting will always be there as a career option for Romo, while playing in the NFL will not.
Not to mention that going from never broadcasting a game in your life, to joining CBS’s best broadcast team could prove too much for Romo. Then again, we did just see a lifelong businessman just become president of the United States.
So maybe it’s not such a leap after all.
