It didn’t come on his first pitch, like it did in Instructional League play. However, Tim Tebow did get his first hit in the Arizona Fall League on Tuesday.

From USA Today:

Tim Tebow finally got a hit in Arizona Fall League play.

Tuesday, in his second at-bat, Tebow hit a line drive single off Chicago Cubs prospect Duane Underwood, ending his 13-at-bat hitless streak to start the circuit, comprised mostly of top prospects.

“It feels good,” Tebow told MLB.com. “I feel more and more comfortable with every at-bat, just seeing pitches, getting rhythm and timing down. Just trying to get more at-bats and get through them. It felt good.”

The New York Mets left fielder who made his debut on Oct. 11, nearly got his first his first base bag.

To date, he is 1-for-15 (.067) with six strikeouts and three walks.

Tebow’s single came in the second pitch of the at-bat, an 88-mph. He advanced to third base on double, but was stranded there.

“I don’t really feel like I was pressing too much,” Tebow said. “I’m just working on a couple of things, getting some of those things smoothed out. I think that will help as well.

“In that at-bat, (it worked) for sure. Not rolling over is one of them.”

Tebow is only available for games only Monday through Thursday as he fulfills his broadcast obligations for ESPN.

Tebow’s Scottsdale Scorpions take on the Salt River Rafters Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. local time.
