The Golden State Warriors signing Kevin Durant not only upset Oklahoma City, it created major disturbances in Las Vegas, too.
This season’s runner-ups entered the offseason as favorites for the 2016-2017 campaign. Then they signed former NBA MVP Durant. The odds got, well, odd.
Bettors previously doubled the $100 wager on the Warriors to walk with $200 plus the deposit on a winning slip. Now they don’t even walk with what they put up. A $115 bet on the Warriors brings the gambler $100 atop his initial deposit. In other words, Vegas sees Golden State as favorites against the field.
Adding Kevin Durant tends to have that effect on the prospects of a 73-win team.
