The 148th running of the Belmont Stakes takes place on Saturday at around 6:32 p.m. Eastern.
The mile-and-a-half track measures by far the longest of the Triple Crown races. As Nyquist, who skips today, won at Churchill Downs and Exaggerator emerged victorious at Pimlico, the race lacks the excitement of the last two years as no horse sees a chance to win the Triple Crown. With temperatures in the low 80s and very little chance of rain in Elmira, the horses run under sunny skies in dirt rather than mud.
