If you went with the better seed in all 16 games Thursday you are now 9-7. If you went with the teams with the most Breitbart All-Americans and All-Conference players you are 15-1.
Gonzaga’s upset of Seton Hall to close out Day 1 was predicted by the All-American method based on Breitbart Sports picking Domantas Sabonis as the Player of the Year in the in the West Coast Conference and Kyle Wiltjer on the All-WCC team. That method picked six of the seven opening-day wins by worse seeds.
Those are the best and worst of the eight approaches to brackets posted Wednesday. If you went with the main regional brackets we posted Monday you are 14-2, but sweating the long-shot upsets of Virginia and Oregon this weekend that could give you a shot at your bracket, or plunge you to laughing stock if they do not happen.
To try to win a bracket you have to pick a couple of big upsets that probably will not happen, but if they do they take you from a good bracket to first place. Here are the number of wins you have based on the eight options we presented including our published brackets.
Bracket posted by Breitbart | Wins |
---|---|
all-american | 15 |
breitbart posted monday | 14 |
most nba talent | 13 |
hottest team | 13 |
value add healthy | 12 |
value analytics | 12 |
experienced guard | 11 |
Just picking lower seeds | 9 |
Anyone who fills out brackets knows that if you go 14-2 one day, you are likely to go something like 5-11 the next, so every day is a new adventure. Maybe the experienced guards will fare better Friday to improve on their 11-5 mark.
