U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch told assembled media in Zurich that she foresees more arrests in the FIFA corruption probe.

Lynch said that U.S. authorities “anticipate pursuing additional charges against individuals and entities.” Monday’s remarks came as part of a joint press event with her Swiss equivalent, Michael Lauber, who indicated that his investigation of Sepp Blatter and other FIFA officials continues.

Lynch told the press:

Separate and apart from the pending indictment, our investigation remains active and it is ongoing. And it in fact has expanded since May. As I made clear at our initial announcement, the scope of our investigation is not limited, and we are following the evidence where it leads. I am grateful for the significant cooperation and substantial evidence that we have received from all quarters. Based upon that cooperation and new evidence, we do anticipate pursuing additional charges against individuals and entities. The problem of corruption in soccer is global, and we will remain vigilant in our efforts to support a global response.

After winning election to a fifth term earlier this year, FIFA President Sepp Blatter announced his resignation pending the designation of a successor. The move followed a May raid that netted fourteen people, including several FIFA officials, as part of an international probe into soccer corruption.
