Floyd Mayweather, after earning at least a $180 million paycheck that some speculate may balloon to $400 million for his boxing match with Manny Pacquiao, just enjoyed a four-day gambling binge that crammed his wallet with another $477,000.

The undefeated champ (48-0) put down $350,000 on three NBA playoff basketball games and one boxing match which rewarded him a cool $827,000 (-$350K = $477K total winnings).

Keith Idec from BoxingScene.com, via CBS Sports, noted that Mayweather’s wager that the Gennady Golovkin-Willie Monroe Jr. middleweight title fight would end in less than 5.5 rounds enjoyed a bit of luck:

“Referee Jack Reiss stopped the scheduled 12-round fight 45 seconds into the sixth round Saturday night at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Moments earlier, Monroe (19-2, 6 KOs) reluctantly beat Reiss’ 10 count following the third knockdown Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) scored in the fight. Mayweather would’ve lost his five-figure bet had the fight continued another 46 seconds.”

The idea of the world’s highest-paid athlete fighting the undefeated middleweight knockout machine, who (along with Canelo Alvarez) appears as a prospect to take up Mayweather’s title as pay-per-view king once the undefeated welterweight retires, looks like a better idea to fans than to Mayweather’s father. Floyd Sr. told ProBoxingInsider, “No, no, we not fixin’ to fight no damn giant.”
