Braselton, Georgia, police arrested the ex-girlfriend of Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden for slashing the linebacker with a knife and breaking his companion’s arm with a baseball bat.
Saturday, Erica Palmer allegedly broke into the home of Walden and waited for him and his companion to come home. She suspected he was seeing another woman, reported the Indianapolis Star. Palmer brought her two children—both of whom she had with the Colts star—to the scene and left them in the car while she carried out her alleged assault, the police claim.
Police Chief Lou Solis said that when Walden and his companion arrived home, Palmer was sitting in a chair with Walden’s gun in her hand. He was able to grab the gun away from her, but could not protect his girlfriend from being smashed in the arm with the flailing bat, the cops say.
Palmer ran from the house, but allegedly returned later after the police who had been called to the home left the premises. This time, cops say, she slashed Walden across the arm with a knife. Again Palmer allegedly fled, but police caught up to her at a nearby hotel where they arrested her on multiple charges, including burglary and several counts of aggravated assault.
Palmer is being held at the Hall County Jail and the children have been put in the care of Walden.
