On the heels of being dumped by golf’s top-ranked player Rory McIlroy in 2014, Caroline Wozniacki’s 2015 is off to a bad start as well. Scandinavian apparel designer JBS just dumped the tall, blonde, attractive tennis star from her underwear modeling contract to focus on soccer sensation Cristiano Ronaldo’s underwear line instead.
Ironically it was Wozniacki’s uninhibited modeling venture with JBS that inspired Ronaldo to don some briefs and see if he too could cash in on some modeling of his own.
Morten Alstrup a director with JBS told Ekstra Bladet, as translated by 101 Great Goals:
Caroline Wozniacki is one of the reasons that we have got hold of Cristiano Ronaldo. He had seen how Caroline dared to be pictured in only her underwear that we had made for her, and he liked it. We had hoped to grab a market, but the impact of CR7 has been far, far greater than we dared dream of. So it is best for the company to stop working with Caroline Wozniacki.
The deal for Ronaldo will enhance his already expected $75 million income that he will earn from soccer and endorsement deals. JBS noted that the Ronaldo underwear collection injected a cool $6.5 million into their coffers since the company started featuring Real Madrid’s leading scorer.
Wozniacki explained during one of her underwear photo shoots that for her “it’s very important to wear a good set of underwear because when I’m on the court especially, also off the court, it’s important that they feel comfortable and they look good, matches your clothes, and makes you feel feminine and sexy. To have my name on an underwear collection is just fantastic.”
After viewing the former top-ranked tennis player in the world show off her JBS line, and much else, in the below video, one feels confident that there may be other suitors.
