Paul George walked back, as much as a man with a broken leg can, controversial remarks on the video showing former Baltimore Raven Ray Rice slugging the woman he subsequently married.

“I don’t condone hittin women or think it’s coo BUT if SHE ain’t trippin then I ain’t trippin,” injured Indiana Pacer Paul George tweeted. “Lets keep it movin lol let that man play!” The All-Star appeared to depict Rice’s devastating left hook as a self-defense measure. “If you in a relationship and a woman hit you first and attacking YOU,” he tweeted, “Then you obviously ain’t beatin HER. Homie made A bad choice! #StayUp.”
George deleted those two tweets. He sent out an apology Thursday morning.
Let me apologize to the women and to the VICTIMS of domestic violence people my intent was not to downplay the situation..

Rice, second in rushing yards in Baltimore Ravens history, received an indefinite suspension from the NFL and his walking papers from the Ravens after TMZ posted video earlier this week of him punching a woman in an Atlantic City elevator.
