While most fans seeking autographs shove player photos, game programs, or slips of paper in front of professional athletes, one football fan is pulling up his sleeves trying to get every Redskins starter to sign his arms so he can turn the signatures into tattoos.
Redskins fan Charlie White is on a quest to get all 22 Redskins starters to ink his arms so he can go to a tattoo parlor and turn the signatures into permanent tattoos and he already has a good start with about half a dozen of them.
Recently the fan got defensive back Brandon Meriweather to ink his arm. When he explained to the player what he was doing, Meriweather encouraged fellow player Ryan Clark to sign, too.
White, who considers himself a mega fan, told the media, “I want all 22 starters. I believe in getting starters on my arm for a reason. It’s because I bleed burgundy and gold.”
Along with the two defensive backs, White got the signatures of wide receivers Jackson and Santana Moss and quarterback Robert Griffin III. The fan also has the signatures of fullback Darrel Young and former starting receiver Josh Morgan. All have been turned into tattoos.
The ink-filled fan says that his wife is not bothered by his goal. “She knows that between fishing and the Redskins,” he said,
leave me alone.”
