Unseeded Ajila Tomljanovic beat #3 Agnieska Radwanska in the third round at the 2014 Roland Garros French Open, 6-4, 6-4. Tomljanovic started strong and never let up.
Radwanska has not made it past the fourth round at the French Open, to see her beat in the third round and so soundly by an unseeded player still surprises. She never had control and was down 1-5 in the first set, but made it 4-5 before losing it 4-6. She made amateurish mistakes such as not volleying the ball over the net or returning simple hits right into the net, which would have been points.
The most significant stat from the match were the break points. Tomljanovic broke 4 out of 4 of Radwanka’s serves while keeping her composure on her serves. Radwanska only broke 1 out of 5 of Tomljanovic’s serves.

The French Open resembles 2013 Wimbledon, where the top women kept dropping early and #15 seed Marion Bartoli beat #23 Sabine Lisicki in the finals.
