When the first episode of Amazing America with Sarah Palin airs on Sportsman Channel later this week, you can expect to see a hit. Actually, multiple direct hits. One of the first guests on the new program is one of the best shooters in the world.
Julie Golob, captain of Smith & Wesson’s highly successful shooting team, has won over 120 championship titles in seven different action shooting disciplines. She’s also a veteran, hunter, author, and Mama Grizzly.
The perfect guest for a Palin program.
“The producers of the show reached out to me because Sarah Palin wanted to highlight a lot of the different true American kind of people in the grassroots Second Amendment movement,” Golob told Breitbart Sports. “I put together a little introduction to the action shooting sports.”
In the premiere episode, Golob braves the elements at a shooting range in Montana. “It was very very cold,” Golob chuckled. “I don’t think we got above zero, but it was a lot of fun.”
Along with her position with Smith & Wesson Golob is also a member of the Prois Hunting Apparel Pro Staff and an Army vet. She was even named U.S. Army Female Athlete of the Year in 1999. Basically she’s living a dream and it all started when she was a little girl.
“I think it first began for me as a kid,” said Golob. “I grew up shooting with my dad and eventually became a shooter myself. Shooters are some of the best people in the world. Through this wonderful sport you become part of a second family and I can make a career out of it. Sometimes I have to pinch myself.”
As a professional competition shooter and freedom loving patriot, Golob is dismayed by the gun grabbers in Washington. “It’s so frustrating to see what’s happening in D.C.,” she said. “Without our Second Amendment rights, we can’t have any other rights. It’s critical. We all have to do our part. We have to share the sports and share our passion for firearms, shooting, hunting and our great American heritage.”
Golob wrote the book, SHOOT: Your Guide to Shooting and Competition, to help introduce people to all the types of shooting that are out there. The mother of two is proud to be associated with a show that stars Sarah Palin.
“She is such a strong influential woman and she is so steadfast when it comes to preserving the Second Amendment,” Golob said of Palin. “I think the world of her.”
The feeling is mutual with Palin showcasing the tremendous talents of Golob on the first episode of Amazing America with Sarah Palin, which debuts April 3 on the Sportsman Channel.
