On Monday’s Hannity on FOX News, host Sean Hannity asked legendary quarterback Joe Namath how he handled PETA’s criticism of his fur coat. Namath smiled and said, “It’s not the end of the world.”
Hannity teased up the fur coat question by showing a photo of Namath in a fur coat at a 1971 game side-by-side with a photo of Namath in fur coat at the 2014 Super Bowl.
Hannity said: “I’ve got a picture of you side-by-side from 1971 wearing a fur coat and one from last night. You know things haven’t really changed a whole lot in your life. And PETA’s coming after you–they’re pretty annoyed with you. Do you have response to them?”
Namath smiled and asked, “Who?”
Hannity then restated: “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. They’re mad you’re wearing a fur coat.”
A smiling Namath then replied: “I tell you what, we’ll deal with that as we go along. There are things we’re going to handle later. They can be mad if they’d like. I love animals and it’s not the end of the world.”
