Citizens United President David Bossie and his wife Susan are at the Rose Bowl for the final BCS title game between Auburn and Florida State.
Bossie will be sending Breitbart Sports his thoughts and observations live from the Rose Bowl. Check back for regular updates along with thoughts from Breitbart Sports.
FINAL: Florida State 34, Auburn 31: PASADENA AIN’T THE PLAINS: Auburn runs out of miracles. An incredible ending to the BCS era in college football’s most storied venue. That is why they call it the Grandaddy of ’em all, folks! See you next year for the College Football Playoff.
Florida State 34, Auburn 31: Jameis Winston to Kelvin Benjamin, who skies for a touchdown with 13 seconds left to put Florida State up by three.
Auburn 31, Florida State 27: Tre Mason rumbles into the end zone to put Auburn, which seems like a team of destiny, up by four with 1:19 remaining. Jameis Winston has to pull a Vince Young.
Bossie: Holy Cow!
Florida State 27, Auburn 24: Auburn gets a taste of its own medicine as Kermit Whitfield returns the kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown.
Bossie: Stunned
Auburn 24, Florida State 20: Florida State holds Auburn to a field goal inside the 10-yard line, and the defense gives Winston a chance to win the national title game.
Breitbart Sports: Auburn 21, Florida State 20: Nick Marshall throws a crucial interception, and Florida State cashes the turnover in for a touchdown. A crucial 15-yard penalty on Freeman moves Florida State back, and prevents the Seminoles from attempting a two-point conversion. Aguayo instead kicks a 35-yard extra point to bring the Seminoles within one.
Start of the Fourth Quarter: Auburn 21, Florida State 13
Bossie: Huge defensive stop by Auburn again
Bossie: Another terrific punt by auburn [Stephen Clark again pins Florida State inside the five-yard line]
Bossie: Huge stop by Tigers
Bossie: Auburn needs some defense after anemic offensive start.
[Auburn stops Florida State after a key drop by Florida State’s Kelvin Benjamim]
Auburn 21, Florida State 13: Auburn forces another Aguayo field goal, as Florida State finally gets Kelvin Benjamin some touches. Jimbo Fisher seems to have underestimated Auburn’s speed in his game plan.
Johnny Football is on Auburn’s sideline.
Breitbart’s Jeff Poor: Florida State is nearly a nine-point favorite in the second half.
HALFTIME: Auburn 21, Florida State 10
Tony Lee: Florida State’s Aguayo can give it a run from 60 yards. Winston has shown he can strike quickly, and Auburn’s secondary has given up a lot of big plays. I understand Jimbo Fisher was fearful that Auburn could strike quickly, especially since Florida State starts the second half with the ball, but he had to use his timeouts to try to give his offense a chance to put at least three points on the board, which would have made the game a one-possession game.
Auburn 21, Florida State 10: After a fake punt, Devonta Freeman scores after a Jameis Winston scramble to put Florida State back in the game.
Auburn 21, Florida State 3: Nick Marshall runs it in to put Auburn up by 18.
Tony Lee: College coaches are going to copy what Malzahn has done with his D-line, rotating in multiple players who are quick even though they may be a bit undersized. Auburn’s performance is more incredible given Malzahn has not gone to the “Hurry Up, No Huddle” for a sustained period. Auburn showing the power of the SEC in games that matter.
Bossie: Poor punt gives Auburn great field position. Auburn’s defense playing inspired football.
Auburn 14, Florida State 3: Nick Marshall throws a touchdown pass to Melvin Ray for a 50-yard touchdown pass as Florida State was focused on stopping the run.
Bossie: Huge pass play. Touchdown Auburn. Extra point good. 14-3.
Bossie declares, “No Fumble.” [on the Tre Mason run with just over 14 minutes left in the second quarter]
Breitbart’s Jeff Poor: Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron [McCarron’s girlfriend Katherine Webb is an Auburn Alum] pulling for Auburn.
Breitbart’s Jeff Poor: TALE OF THE TAPE: AUBURN MOST CONSERVATIVE COLLEGE, FSU RANKS HIGH ON JOCKS AND BEER
There’s an old joke that Auburn University with its nearly 25,000 students, is bigger Baptist school than Baylor University in Waco, TX. And based on the 2013 ranking of The Princeton Review, that is possibly an accurate representation. The Princeton Review ranking put out last fall have Auburn listed as the most conservative college in the country, ahead of schools with a recognized conservative pedigree like Hillsdale College and the service academies.
Meanwhile, Florida State University, a much larger institution than Auburn with its 41,000 students, ranks high in the Princeton Review’s categories of “Jock Bloggers” and “Lots of Beer.” The school is also regularly ranked high amongPlayboy’s top party schools in the country.

Breitbart’s Tony Lee predicts Florida State 48, Auburn 41:
Prediction: Florida State 48, Auburn 41… with a late cover.*
I would not be shocked, though, if Auburn cut the deficit to one with no time remaining on a 99-yard hail-mary pass that is caught by an Auburn running back at the Florida State 35-yard line, who then laterals back to Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall, who then runs it in for touchdown. And then won the game by going for two on a Fumblerooski play. Seriously, would anyone be surprised if the game ended this way?
