In Orlando, Kentucky’s Willie Cauley-Stein held his counterpart to only two points and Trevor Releford (Alabama) and Casey Prather (Florida) both scored in double figures to give the 6-seed SEC at 78-66 win over the Big South. They will travel to New York to face the 11-seed Missouri Valley, which powered past the WAC 79-56 due to dominant performances by Wichita State’s duo of Fred Van Vleet (shooting guard) and Ron Baker (power forward).
In the mock tournament, all 32 conferences were seeded based on their ratings at www.kenpom.com, and then sent to their likely 2014 tournament sites. The top 10 players to date from each conference were pitted against their counterpart using the Value Add Predictor to determine how many points each player would score against his counterpart, with the winning team advancing.
