A prominent ESPN basketball analyst wrote that NBA teams may not sign Jason Collins simply because they felt he was just not that good anymore even before he announced earlier this year that he was gay.
Breitbart Sports has noted numerous times how Collins, beloved by the left, is not a basketball player of any significance. Now, even ESPN is admitting that Collins may not get an NBA shot because he just is not that good, not because he is gay.
In his column, NBA analyst Marc Stein writes that “the unpleasant truth about Collins’ job prospects is that several teamsdon’t think he can make a telling on-court contribution any more … andfelt that way long before his announcement.”
Stein goes on to forecast that “there will be loud and widespread cries that the league at largerejected him on the basis of his sexuality. But who can unreservedlymake that declaration when Collins has been a 13th/14th/15th man for thelast half-decade?”
Collins, who was let go by the Washington Wizards, has been heralded as the first “active” athlete to come out could divide a locker room and create a media circus.
