Although minor league baseball season has concluded, the Potomac Nationals are staying involved in the government shutdown.
All furloughed government workers can receive a complimentary Opening Day ticket by showing their government ID at any point during business hours throughout the course of the government shutdown.
However, the club is also taking it a step further.
The team plans to hire the first several employees who show up to assist in compensating them for what could be a loss of income from the shutdown. It is unclear exactly how many positions are available or if there is any cap to the number of free tickets that will be given out.
