Dick Vitale, possessor of one of the world’s most recognizable voices, had some harsh words for Arian Foster and other athletes who took money while in school.

The college basketball personality tweeted Friday, “when they put their hand out like a prostitute & take it they don’t say a word – moaning yrs later = SAD!”

Vitale later apologized for the remarks which come at a time where many feel the NCAA is taking advantage of amateur players. Author Marc Isenberg asked Vitale who the “pimps” were in that scenario, implying that those making mega-bucks off of these college players are more to blame that the Arian Fosters for the world. He also pointed out Vitale’s comparison was not accurate.

@DickieV Prostitution defined: Sex for $. Definitely ILLEGAL Athletes taking $ is not “selling body.” Nor illegal. Just against NCAA rules
