Reports from sources close to Robert Griffin III indicated on Wednesday that he will start in the Redskins’ opener on Monday Night Football against Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles. Griffin has practiced for the past two weeks of Redskins training camp without any setbacks to his rehabilitation.
Griffin gruesomely injured his knee near the end of the season against the eventual Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens and re-injured it during the team’s playoff loss at home to the Seattle Seahawks. Many fans and analysts have doubted whether RGIII will be able to be as effective using his legs to make plays as he was last season.
Griffin recently answered that question in a radio interview with ESPN980 by saying, “If I had to run a 40 today at the combine in my underwear, I feel like I could run a 4.3-something.”
