Yankees GM Brian Cashman Accused of Misleading Federal Investigators

The New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, who recently stated he is “not comfortable” talking to Alex Rodriguez anymore, may be more culpable than he would like to appear regarding steroid offenses within the organization. Louise Neathway, a woman who claims to have Cashman’s mistress, stated in a petition filed on her behalf that he told her “he intentionally misled federal investigators during the Roger Clemens investigation.”

If the accusation is true it would be a felony offense. Furthermore, Neathway says he told her “he knew of Yankee clubhouse steroid use by various Yankee players byname” and that he “was ambivalent to the use of performance enhancementdrugs so long as nothing came back to the Yankee organization.”

Cashman has consistently denied having any knowledge on the part of the Yankee organization, himself included, that there was steroid use taking place by Yankee players. Nethway is currently facing 52 criminal charges and is accused of stalking and threatening Cashman and his family.
