Mississippi State Seeks to Lure Recruit... with Stick Figures

Colleges desperate to remain relevant in the increasingly important realm of recruiting have sometimes resorted to strange tactics. Few, however, would top some of the letters Mississippi State is sending recruits.

Last cycle, the Bulldogs sent a letter to a recruit with the simple phrase “You’re a Baller” written on it. This cycle, MSU is sending bizarre letters to Hoover HS (AL) prospect Marlon Humphrey featuring stick figure drawings.

Humphrey, a cornerback, is considered among the nation’s top recruits and likely leaning toward Alabama. It is unlikely whether the stick figure letters, seen here, will prove to be a secret formula to bringing him in to Starkville.
