Aaron Rodgers is in the midst of one of the strongest and most diverse quarterback eras in football history.
At the top, you have Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, both of whom are widely considered to be among the top five quarterbacks of all-time. Just below them is a steller list that includes Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Joe Flacco, and Matthew Stafford. In addition to these standout veterans is a crop of young, and mostly dual threat talents that includes Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck, and Russell Wilson.
Nevertheless, according to Mike Ditka, it is Rodgers that stands out above the crowd.
The legendary former coach told the Chicago Sun-Times that the Green Bay signal caller is the best in the business:
I look at guys like [Tom] Brady and [Drew] Brees… the talent isphenomenal. The guy up in Green Bay [Aaron Rodgers], I think is the bestin football. But that’s my opinion. I like what he does, and I like hisleadership qualities. And I think that’s the other thing you have tolook at. He has to be the guy in charge. And the team has to know it.
He also said that Rodgers is the one player he would love to have the opportunity to coach. “There’s been so many great ones. But if I had to coach one guy in my career, maybe it’d be be Aaron Rodgers,” said Ditka.
