After George Zimmerman was found not guilty of all charges on Saturday, Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade quickly tweeted that he was “stunned” by verdict and “saddened as a father.”
He said he could not make sense of the verdict and then tweeted, “How do I explain this to my young boys????”
Last spring, after the death of Trayvon Martin, Wade tweeted a photo of himself in a hoodie and then urged his teammates to do the same. The Miami Heat took a team photo of its players donning hoodies, which LeBron James then posted to his Twitter account. Many NBA players–like the New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire–also tweeted photos of themselves in hoodies to show support for Martin.
