Marshall Henderson, the flamboyant Ole Miss basketball star, has been reportedly suspended indefinitely from the team due to unspecified rules violations. CBS sports is reporting Henderson was suspended for failed drug tests.
Henderson almost led Old Miss to the Sweet 16 in the last NCAA tournament, but Ole Miss lost to La Salle in the final seconds in a Round of 32 game.
“Since the season ended, we have talked a lot about Marshall taking a greater leadership role with our team. With that comes greater responsibility, and he must do a better job of living up to the high standard we expect from him and he desires from himself,” Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy said in a statement.
The basketball player known as “land shark” tweeted that it would be an interesting “whitegirlwednesday” hours before the suspension was announced. He returned to Ole Miss for his senior season.
