Johnson Thankful for Jail Time: Judge 'Blessing in Disguise'

Chad Johnson, who was sent to jail last week after enraging a Florida judge after he playfully slapped the butt of his lawyer, said he loved the judge and was thankful she sent him to jail.

After being released from jail on Monday, Johnson said, “A lot of people have tried to get me to slow down in life. Coaches, my agent, my lawyer. And there was one person that was able to do it. And that was my judge Ms. McHugh.”

“I have to make my next move my best move,” Johnson said. “I had a lot of time to reflect. A lot of time to think about where I’ve been, where I am now, and where I’m going.”

Johnson said that not even his parents have been able to do what Judge Katie McHugh did–force him to push “pause” on his life.

“Little does she know it, but I love her to death,” Johnson said. “Basically what she’s been is a blessing in disguise.”
