San Antonio’s young three earning a total of $6.2 million a year has matched the points of Miami’s big three earning $52.3 million a year through three games of the NBA Finals. The Spurs continue to pay the fewest dollars per win of any NBA team year after year as they use proven indicators that players will be strong NBA players. The breakdown of salaries follows:
Heat Big 3 | Salaries | Spurs Young 3 | Salaries |
---|---|---|---|
Chris Bosh | $17,545,000 | Kawhi Leonard | $1,809,840 |
Dwyane Wade | $17,182,000 | Danny Green | $3,500,000 |
LeBron James | $17,545,000 | Gary Neal | $854,389 |
Heat Total | $52,272,000 | Spurs Total | $6,164,229 |
ESPN first pointed out during broadcasts that the points scored by the two trios were equal. Danny Green (27 points, left in photo) and Gary Neal (24, right) led the Spurs to a Finals record 16 three-pointers in Game 3, just three years after neither player was in the NBA. Kawhi Leonard has played exceptional defense on LeBron James to hold him below 20 points in each game.
