On Tuesday, Jay Leno mocked the Obama administration’s surveillance programs by saying besides Tim Tebow and Patriots coach Bill Belichick only the National Security Agency knew the Patriots were going to sign the popular quarterback.
“Do you know about that, you know something? Nobody knew about this,” Leno said during the opening monologue of “The Tonight Show.” “This was a top secret deal. Nobody had any idea. The only people who knew were Bill Belichick, Tim Tebow, and of course the NSA because they were, you know, listening in. So they were the only ones.”
Last week, The Guardian and the Washington Post broke stories about the NSA’s phone (Verizon) and Internet (PRISM) surveillance programs, respectively. Tebow signed with the Patriots on Tuesday and the announcement rocked the sports world on Monday.
