Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson got arrested and sentenced to 30 days in jail on Monday after slapping the butt of his male attorney in court.
Johnson’s attorney was actually on the verge of getting him a favorable plea deal that would have kept him out of jail, according to TMZ, until Johnson’s antics made the judge believe he was not taking the process seriously.
The Broward County judge was enraged when Johnson playfully slapped his lawyer’s butt after the judge asked Johnson if he was satisfied with his attorney.
Johnson’s sentence is now longer than the one he was facing. His probation was extended until December 21. 2013. Johnson pleaded no contest to battery of his former wife (reality television star Evelyn Lozado) when they were still together. Johnson head-butted her last year after an argument over a receipt for a box of condoms. He then violated the terms of the probation when he failed to show up at a meeting with his probation officer.
The former football player was known for his over-the-top celebrations after touchdowns, which forced the NFL to create a new rule banning the use of props in celebrations.
