San Francisco 4, St. Louis 2

Chad Gaudin (1-1) started for the first time in over three years, pitching six strong innings, allowing a two-run home run to the Cardinals’ David Freese, as the Giants rallied in the seventh to beat the Cardinals 4-2, snapping their seven game road losing streak.

Brandon Belt doubled in the winning runs for the Giants, and Sergio Romo recorded a four out save, his 15th for the Giants.

Pittsburgh 5, Cincinnati 4 (11 innings)

The Pirates pulled into a second place tie with Cincinnati after beating the Reds in extra innings, 5-4, on Travis Snyder’s two-out, RBI single in the 11th. Five Pittsburgh relievers pitched 10 scoreless innings, and Justin Wilson (5-0) picked up the win in relief.

Garrett Jones hit a game tying, two-run home run in the 8th to send it into extra innings. Pedro Alvarez also homered for the Pirates.

Philadelphia 7, Milwaukee 5

Domonic Brown continued his power surge, hitting his 16th home run to go along with 4 RBI, as the Phillies beat the Brewers 7-5 Sunday. Cliff Lee (7-2) pitched into the eighth, giving up three runs in the win.

Brewers starter Mike Fiers (1-4) did not make it out of the second, surrendering seven runs. The Brewers did score five in the eighth and ninth to make it close, but could not tie the game against Antonio Bastardo in the ninth.

Arizona 8, Chicago Cubs 4

Patrick Corbin (9-0) became the first pitcher to nine wins, beating the Cubs 8-4 Sunday. Edwin Jackson (1-8) gave up four wild pitches, 12 hits, and seven runs in 5 2/3 innings in the loss.

Scott Hairston homered for the Cubs, who have now lost two in a row.
