While there was some mystery surrounding the departure of Everett Golson from the Notre Dame program, the losing quarterback in the 2013 championship game sought to set the record straight.
Golson said the reason behind his suspension was “poor academic judgement.”
The young quarterback went on to apologize those whom he had let down then promised to work hard to be eligible for the 2014 season.
With the loss of Golson, senior Tommy Rees is in line to win the starting job this season. If so, Golson should be the heavy favorite to win the competition going into the 2014 season as he has now ended speculation that he will transfer elsewhere.
