Lindsey Vonn, girlfriend of Tiger Woods and top American skier, is under scrutiny after a New York Daily News investigation that showed that she has visited the laboratory of infamous doping doctor Bernd Pansold.
There is no evidence that Vonn, whose interactions with the doctoroccur on Red Bull sponsored training trips, has ever doped. She has never failed a drug test and there never has been suspicion around her. Nevertheless, the connection is disturbing. Pansold was at the center ofthe German Democratic Republic’s state-sponsored doping program onyoung athletes that has been called a crime against humanity.
The Daily News article expresses concern about the vulnerabilityexperienced by athletes with regards to their corporate sponsorships andthe trainers they see. Reportedly, Vonn sees Pansold twice a year.
