Robert Griffin III is easily one of the most popular players the NFL has seen in a number of years, and his jersey sales paced the league. And his popularity has prompted fans to send the young signal caller gifts for his upcoming wedding.
The elite rookie quarterback will be marrying Rebecca Liddicoat on July 6th, and the two are receiving plenty of help from fans who found their Bed Bath & Beyond registry and purchased gifts for the couple after the Washington Post initially posted the registry online.
Already, the former #2-overall pick is receiving backlash at the fact that fans, most likely less wealthy than he is, are sending him gifts. Griffin took to Twitter to defend himself by making it clear that the fans found the registry and purchased the gifts on their free will.
