A day after addressing the National Rifle Association convention, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is attending the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.
No word yet on whether Palin has placed a wager on a horse or horses. There are a lot of great story lines at the Derby. “Frac Daddy” was named as a tribute to oil field workers. “Normandy Invasion” honors World War II veterans. A female jockey is riding “Mylute.” Trainer Todd Pletcher has saddled five horses. And Rick Pitino co-owns “Goldencents.” Jockey Kevin Kriggins, who will attempt to become the first black jockey to win the race since 1902, will ride that horse.
Breitbart’s Liz Sheld has a fantastic guide of all the other Derby horses here in what is shaping up to be a muddy race.
Palin is in Kentucky to attend a fundraiser on Sunday.
