At the conclusion of Saturday’s basketball play Harvard and Florida Gulf Coast had joined 43 other teams that were already locks to make the tournament. Belmont also won the Atlantic Sun tournament, but they were already a lock to make the tournament. The following is the alphabetical list of the 45 teams who will definitely see their names called on Selection Sunday in a week, led by seven each for the Big East and Big Ten.
The Pac12 has rebounded from a tough year, and now has five locks. The ACC, Atlantic 10, Big 12 and Mountain West all have four locks, meaning seven conferences have more than the two locks the SEC has for the tournament. However, the SEC has a number of teams in the Middle 20 that could push them past several conferences.
