According to reports, unparalleled reliever Mariano Rivera will be ready to resume pitching when the 2013 season gets underway. Rivera suffered a torn ACL in early May of 2012 in a freak accident; he was shagging fly balls in the outfield while the Yankees were taking batting practice.

Rivera, who said his knee fells “about 95%” said he will start throwing in about a week.

Even in the brief period Rivera pitched in 2012, he was his usual ageless wonder. At the age of 42, he succeeded in 5 of 6 save opportunities with a 2.16 ERA.
