On Wednesday’s Breitbart News Daily, Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer was highly critical of Hillary Clinton’s latest attempt to blame her election loss on FBI Director James Comey and the Russians.
“It’s pretty remarkable. I saw in the Wall Street Journal this morning a headline to the effect ‘Hillary Taking Responsibility for Election Loss – Also Blames Misogyny, Foreign Interference, and the FBI,’” he chuckled. “It’s this classic example that when you lose, you essentially say, ‘Well, it’s the shortcomings and the failings and the errors and the blotches on other people that really led me to lose.’”
SiriusXM host Alex Marlow got another laugh from Schweizer by suggesting the Russians must have somehow forced Clinton to “use the State Department to enrich herself personally at the expense of the American people” while James Comey “told her to never campaign in Wisconsin even one day.”
“That’s exactly right,” Schweizer said. “David Axelrod, I think, made that point on CNN yesterday, that there are some very fundamental issues here.”
He said the clip of Clinton’s blaming her loss on Comey and the Russians “is Exhibit A in what a lot of people don’t like about Hillary Clinton and what they don’t like about politicians in general sometimes.”
“I think in her case, it’s an exaggerated form, but it’s this notion of ‘I’m taking responsibility, but I’m really not taking responsibility, and I’m blaming other people.’ Anybody who’s a parent of teenagers is familiar with that kind of model,” he said.
Schweizer pointed out the “interesting fun fact” that the attorney handling ethics and disclosure matters for President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is “a very powerful attorney called Jamie Gorelick,” who served in the Clinton administration and was “expected to have been Hillary Clinton’s choice for attorney general.”
“You could argue he’s being very savvy because he’s expecting a lot of Democrats to come after a Republican president and his family, so I’m going to pick a prominent liberal Democrat to defend me,” Schweizer said of Kushner’s choice.
“You could also look at the campaign giving of the Kushner family in the past and say that he’s significantly more liberal than his father and the Republican Party. Others could point to it and say, ‘No, he’s showing where his political affiliations are, and it’s more with Jamie Gorelick than the Republican Party,'” he added.
Peter Schweizer is a Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large, president of the Government Accountability Institute, and author of the best-selling book Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich.
