Retired U.S. Air Force Col. and Louisiana U.S. Senate candidate Rob Maness spoke to Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Monday regarding the Louisiana flood, which the Red Cross has declared the worst natural disaster to hit the U.S. since Hurricane Sandy.
Maness said that when it comes to the so-called volunteer “cajun navy” of individuals rescuing and assisting victims of the flooding, “I haven’t seen one New Black Panther (NBP) or one Black Lives Matter (BLM) boat in all of this.”
The context for Maness’ remarks was a guidance memo from the Obama administration which many believe misguidedly invoked the race card. As Breitbart’s Michael Patrick Leahy reported:
Retired Air Force Col. Rob Maness, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Louisiana, called on President Obama to apologize to residents of Louisiana for a 16-page “guidance” sent out last week by his Department of Justice that cautioned Louisianans not to be racist in hiring people to help them clean up after the recent floods that killed 13 and forced more than 30,000 to abandon their homes.
Maness told Marlow on Monday’s radio interview that when he was driving “through all the devastation in the last few days” in Louisiana, he hadn’t seen any volunteers from the New Black Panthers or Black Lives Matter movement helping the flood victims.
Maness said:
I haven’t heard from Al Sharpton. I haven’t heard from Jesse Jackson. I haven’t heard from the President of the United States. All these people who say they care about people, especially people of color, like 30 percent of our population here in Louisiana who are devastated and need help and are helping each other — they haven’t made a peep. The President hasn’t bothered to come off of his vacation or even do a press conference for heaven’s sake.
Breitbart News Daily airs on SiriusXM Patriot 125 weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern. The rest of the fiery interview can be heard below.
