While the world outside is grim, 97-year-old veteran “Chuck” of Milwaukee lifted spirits around the country with a dance number that has gone viral.
Charles “Chuck” Franzke was one of many Navy pilots who helped crush Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany in World War 2, and at nearly a century old, he is still a fighter. This time, however, he has never needed to fire a weapon. Instead, Chuck is air-dropping a very different sort of relief with the help of the internet.
The video, originally posted by Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, with well over one million views at the time of this writing, has warmed the collective heart of social media. Responses have been overwhelmingly supportive, cheering him on and thanking him for his service to the country — then and now.
Among Franzke’s legion of supporters? The man who brought sexy back: Justin Timberlake himself. “This just made my day,” the 39-year-old pop star commented on the video.
Franzke told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that his moves just come naturally: “I don’t know, I just get up there and some music just starts playing, and I just start bouncing around. When the music stops, I go back and sit down,” he said in another equally cheerful video. Then he started dancing to “Jingle Bells.”
