CNN’s Jim Acosta on Friday interrupted Dr. Deborah Birx at the White House to remind her that President Donald Trump was wrong about the coronavirus.
Dr. Birx was explaining to reporters why global health experts did not realize the extent of the virus, even in February.
“I will remind you that on February 3, the head of the WHO said there was no reason to ever do a travel ban,” she said. “It wasn’t until January 14 that there was human to human transmission.”
Acosta interrupted Birx to remind her that President Trump said that the virus would go away in April.
“It is going away,” Trump said.
As Acosta protested, Trump replied, “No no no, no more … that was enough for you.”
Earlier in the briefing, Acosta questioned why Dr. Anthony Fauci was not present for the briefing.
“I don’t know, but every time you ask that question … you say, ‘Is there a problem?’ No problem whatsoever,” Trump replied.
