Former Navy SEAL Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) on Monday slammed Democrats for proposing a 1,400-page bill filled with progressive pet projects and pork, while twice blocking a Republican-led, bipartisan-sourced bill to address the coronavirus and stave off further economic losses.

Crenshaw tweeted: “This will go down as one of the most cynical, disgusting, malevolent actions in history. Millions are losing jobs while they play these games.”

The Democrat-sponsored bill came after Senate Democrats refused to vote to move forward on a bipartisan Senate bill. Senate Democrats were holding off for the bill from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), which was filled with items not related to coronavirus such as increased fuel emission standards.

Crenshaw implored Americans to call the office of every Democrat in Congress: “Do not let them get away with this.”

“They are holding America hostage for TOTALLY unrelated progressive policies, and lying to you about it,” he added.

He implored Democrats to pass the existing Senate bill and give relief to Americans put out of work by the coronavirus crisis:

In less than 24 hrs, Dems have blocked urgent relief for Americans out of work, businesses of all sizes, & our health care system TWICE. Why? To fulfill a progressive wishlist of unrelated policies. We are in the middle of a national emergency. This is a good bill. Pass it now.
