President Donald Trump shut down a question from CNN’s Jim Acosta on Wednesday, after the veteran CNN reporter suggested at the White House that Trump was not taking the coronavirus crisis seriously.
“Mr. President, what do you say to Americans who are concerned that you are not taking this seriously enough and that some of your statements don’t match what your health experts are saying?” asked Acosta, after the president met with representatives from some of the top banks in the country.
“That’s CNN. Fake News,” Trump replied shortly.
The president is expected to detail further his response to the ongoing fight against the virus at 9:00 p.m. EST at the White House.
