Former McDonald’s CEO Ed Rensi says the Democrat Party and their 2020 presidential candidates have become the party of communism rather than union workers.

In an interview with Fox Business Network, Rensi told Maria Bartiromo that the Democrats no longer represent union workers like his father, calling them the party of communism.

Rensi said:

The Communist Party that is now parading around as the Democratic Party has got to stop this nonsense.  We have a capitalist system, free markets, and they’ve got to come to terms with that. There’s no way Bernie Sanders is ever going to get elected … he’s absurd.

Rensi continued:

I tell you what, this Democratic Party is not the party of my father who was a Teamster and a truck driver and worked at the coalfields. [The Democrats] all scare me because they are saying that this free market, that this country of ours, this capitalist system, the rights of the individual mean nothing, that the … government has to take over.

As Breitbart News has chronicled, President Trump’s economic nationalist agenda is hugely popular with the country’s union workers, and union bosses are already fearing that their ranks will break with the Democrat establishment to re-elect him in 2020.

“It’s a serious problem for us,” Minnesota union official Alan Netland told the Wall Street Journal last month. “People may say, ‘I voted Republican and the world didn’t fall in, so maybe I better keep doing that.'”

While a number of 2020 Democrat candidates have shown up to strike with United Auto Workers (UAW) members in their fight to get more competitive wages from General Motors (GM), Trump has used his office to pressure GM CEO Mary Barra to reopen plants in the U.S.
