Democrat presidential hopeful and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, who has made climate change policy a top priority throughout his campaign, has yet to receive an invite to CNN’s climate change town hall next month.

According to a CBS News poll released last month, Democrat voters view climate change as “very important” in the 2020 election.

Inslee, whose climate change plan was hailed as the “gold standard” by freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex (D-NY), remains around one percent support in Democratic primary polls. As part of his plan, Inslee said he hopes to achieve 100 percent renewable energy by the year 2035.

In an effort to hear from as many presidential hopefuls as possible, CNN stated it would invite candidates who reach two percent in at least four DNC-approved polls that were conducted between June 28 and August 21.

Those who officially tossed their name into the race for president have until Wednesday to qualify for the town hall, which will take place on September 4, 2019.

Those who have already qualified to attend the town hall are as follows: former Vice President Joe Biden, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Andrew Yang, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) declined to accept the invitation due to prior engagements.
