Rep. Ralph Abraham (R-LA) launched his first Lousiana gubernatorial campaign ad Monday, saying in his ad that “help is on the way” from Louisiana Democrat Gov. Jon Bel Edwards’ stewardship of Louisiana.

Abraham, the leading Republican candidate in the Louisiana Republican gubernatorial campaign, released an ad ahead of the October election against Edwards. The Abraham campaign will run the ad statewide.

The Abraham ad features numerous soundbites of news coverage of his campaign, describing him as an ally of President Donald Trump and the Republican frontrunner. Abraham will vie for the Republican nomination against businessman Eddie Rispone.

The ad ends with the caption, “Help is on the way.”

The Louisiana congressman has served as a key ally of President Trump during the campaign as well as in Congress.

In July, Abraham slammed Edwards for siding with the four progressive Democrat congresswomen, including Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), otherwise known as the “Squad.”

Abraham told Breitbart News Sunday host Matthew Boyle that Edwards “stands behind those radical Democrats . . . AOC and Omar.”

In the wake of President Trump’s tweets telling the Squad that “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came” before coming back to show the U.S. “how it is done,” Abraham said that he would pay for the Squad to leave the country.

“There’s no question that the members of Congress that @realDonaldTrump called out have absolutely said anti-American and antisemitic things. I’ll pay for their tickets out of this country if they just tell me where they’d rather be,” Abraham, tweeted in July.
