Democrat presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren is pledging to both license gun owners and mandate waiting periods for gun purchases.
In a weekend release on Medium, titled “My Plan for Gun Violence Prevention,” Warren also pledged to implement universal background checks and anti-corruption legislation to “break the NRA’s stranglehold on Congress” and “to hold both gun dealers and manufacturers accountable for the violence promoted by their products.”
She vowed to raise the minimum age for gun purchases, to force Federal Firearm License holders (FFLs) to report “multiple [gun] purchases,” and to “prosecute gun traffickers.”
Warren said she will close the so-called “boyfriend loophole,” place higher taxes on gun makers, and place a one-per-month limit on gun purchases.
She also indicated that she will work to diminish U.S. firearm exports.
