Alleged Intruder Pistol Whips Homeowner, then Gets Shot Dead

Canton, Ohio, intrusion suspects allegedly pistol whipped a sleeping man and woman before one of the suspects was shot dead by the man.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports the couple was stirred out of their sleep by being pistol whipped about 2 a.m. The male resident was able to grab his gun and shoot, killing one of the suspects.

News 5 Cleveland reports the second intrusion suspect fled when the homeowner opened fire. The second suspect was able to elude capture.

The Canton Rep reports that police did capture the alleged driver of the suspects’ getaway car. That driver, Joi T. Griffith, faces murder charges due to the death of his alleged accomplice.
